About this coloring page
Nestled in an open shell, a big round pearl smiles up at you. The scalloped lid and base split into neat ridges, a calm medium-level page with lots of curves.
Count the ridges on the top half of the shell, then count the ridges on the bottom half. Are there the same number? Pearls are not always white, either. They can be cream, pink, gold, gray and even nearly black, so kids can pick any pearl color they like and still be true to nature.
Fun factPearls grow slowly inside oysters, layer by shiny layer.
- Color ideaLeave the pearl white with a little pale pink or silver shading, and color the shell lavender.
- After coloringFind something round and shiny at home that looks like a pearl.
