About this coloring page
Grooming time under the sea: a mermaid gently combs the mane of a curly-tailed seahorse. Both tails and the seahorse's ridges give a balanced medium-level page.
Seahorses swim standing upright, and they wrap their curly tails around seaweed to hold on so the water does not sweep them away. What might the seahorse be getting ready for after its brushing? The ridges along its back are small sections that older kids can color in two alternating shades for a striped look.
Fun factIn seahorse families, the dad carries the eggs in a pouch until the babies hatch.
- Color ideaColor the seahorse yellow-orange and the mermaid's tail a deep sea blue.
- After coloringBrush a doll's or stuffed animal's hair the way the mermaid brushes the seahorse.
