About this coloring page
Tucked between two oak leaves, this smiling acorn wears a crosshatched cap. The tiny cap pattern adds detail while the body stays big and simple.
The oak leaves on this page have rounded, wavy edges, unlike the sharp points of a maple leaf. Compare them with a leaf from outside or from the maple page, and ask which shape your child likes better. The crosshatched cap is full of little diamond shapes for careful coloring, while the round acorn body is big and easy.
Fun factAcorns are the nuts of oak trees, and one acorn can grow into a giant oak.
- Color ideaUse dark brown for the cap squares and a lighter tan for the acorn.
- After coloringLook for acorns or other seeds on your next walk.
