About this coloring page
This round, friendly stegosaurus shows off a tall row of back plates and a spiky tail. Each plate is its own little space, so there is plenty of detail for kids who like to color piece by piece.
Stegosaurus was a plant-eater that munched low-growing plants like ferns. Name a few plants this one might enjoy, then ask your child which plants they like to eat, such as peas, lettuce or broccoli. The pointed back plates are good practice for coloring into corners, and the chubby body is an easy, roomy crayon space.
Fun factStegosaurus had four sharp spikes at the end of its tail to protect itself.
- Color ideaColor the back plates in a rainbow order, red at the head end to purple at the tail.
- After coloringCount the plates on its back, then count the tail spikes.
