About this coloring page
A long-necked plesiosaur glides through a calm pool, its flippers tucked against its body. With only a few large areas, this is the easiest page in the dinosaur set.
Lots of animals today swim with flippers too, including sea turtles, seals and penguins. Which one has your child seen at an aquarium, a zoo or in a book? The plesiosaur's long neck is one smooth shape for a crayon, and a few curved ripple lines drawn around the pool will make it look as if it is gliding.
Fun factPlesiosaurs were ocean reptiles that swam with four flippers, and they were not dinosaurs.
- Color ideaColor the water deep blue and the plesiosaur teal so the two shades blend nicely.
- After coloringDraw a few bubbles and fish swimming around the plesiosaur.
