About this coloring page
Wearing a jeweled crown and a robe trimmed with spotted fur, this jolly king holds his scepter. His beard, belt and robe edges add up to plenty of pieces, best for kindergarten and up.
Look at the fur trim on the king's robe. Its little black spots copy a style kings and queens wore long ago, made from white fur with black-tipped tails. Today, costumes use soft fabric instead. The big robe is easy to fill with crayons, and the scepter and buttons are small spots for colored pencils.
Fun factThe decorated rod a king holds at special ceremonies is called a scepter.
- Color ideaUse deep red or royal purple for the robe, white with black dots for the fur trim, and gold for the crown and scepter.
- After coloringPretend to be king or queen for a minute and make one kind rule for the house.
