About this coloring page
A is for apple, and here a chubby capital A stands beside a smiling apple with a leaf. Big, rounded shapes make it an easy first step into the alphabet.
Say apple slowly and listen to the first sound: a short a, like a little gasp. In acorn and apron, the A says its own name instead. Write a lowercase a next to the big one so kids can see both forms. Apples grow in red, green and yellow, so any of those colors works for this one.
Fun factA is the first letter of the English alphabet and one of its five vowels.
- Color ideaColor the A sky blue and the apple bright red so the two stand apart.
- After coloringTrace the A with your finger, then find three things at home that start with A.
