About this coloring page
A juicy wedge of watermelon smiles back, its seeds scattered like freckles. The rind, fruit and seeds give a good medium mix of large and small shapes.
Watermelons grow on long vines that creep across the ground, and they are a favorite summer fruit. Color the big red part with broad crayon strokes, then switch to a pencil for the small teardrop seeds. The striped rind along the bottom is a nice spot to practice staying inside a curved band.
Fun factA watermelon is about 92 percent water.
- Color ideaColor the fruit pinkish red, the seeds black and the rind in two stripes of green.
- After coloringCount the seeds and see if a real watermelon slice has more.
