About this coloring page
A heavy front roller flattens the road while this steamroller smiles from its cab. The roller and wheel give medium detail with nice big areas to fill.
Roads are often made of asphalt, a mix of tiny stones held together by a thick, sticky black binder. A roller like this one presses the warm asphalt flat and smooth before it cools and hardens. Point out the difference between the wide front roller and the round back wheel, then add a fresh dark road behind it.
Fun factEarly road rollers ran on steam engines, which is how the steamroller got its name.
- Color ideaColor the body yellow, the roller dark gray and the cab window light blue.
- After coloringRoll out playdough flat with a rolling pin, just like a steamroller.
